Denver was just named 4th in a ranking of sustainability efforts by cities. The organization that developed the rankings was OurGreenCities.com and the criteria for this ranking included planning & zoning, recycling, mass transit, government roles, and many more.
According to the EPA, sustainability can be defined as:
…policies and strategies that meet society’s present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
